Art 1 - Foundations
Art Level 1: Foundations is designed to develop and improve the students’ basic skills in observational drawing, original and imaginative compositions, design, color theory, painting technique and sculptural concepts. It focuses on challenging the imagination, fosters critical thinking, encourages collaboration, builds reflective skills and develops disciplined effort
Art Level 1: Foundations follows the state Art TEKS and offers not only creative expression through hands-on projects but the study and analysis of art history and cultural relevance. The process of making informed judgments and reasoned evaluations in reference to the artwork of self and others is also a crucial component. Students will move through the following units of study: Drawing, Design, Painting, Printmaking, Mixed Media, Sculpture, and Ceramics. |
